Welcome to the Chanel Perfumes Blog
This blog is a dedicated archive chronicling the remarkable olfactory legacy of Parfums Chanel, a fragrance house founded by the legendary fashion designer Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel. Conceived as an independent and scholarly resource, this site serves as a digital museum for fellow collectors, perfumistas, fragrance historians, and anyone curious about the evolution of this iconic perfume house.
Please note: this blog is an independent project and is not affiliated with the current Chanel brand or its parent companies. All trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
Originally inspired by a post I authored on my main site, Cleopatra’s Boudoir, this expanded platform was created to house more detailed content and serve as a permanent archive focused solely on Chanel. Here, you'll find in-depth histories of each fragrance, dating guides to help identify bottles, detailed breakdowns of perfume compositions, and rich contextual background on advertising, packaging, and bottle design.
Each post is presented in an encyclopedic format—designed not only to preserve factual accuracy, but also to evoke the artistry, elegance, and romance that defined Chanel perfumes. From the enduring classics to short-lived rarities, every scent tells a story, contributing to the broader narrative of innovation and imagination that shaped the brand’s identity and influence.
This blog also hopes to serve another purpose: to show the current stewards of the Chanel name just how deeply these perfumes are missed. If enough interest and passion are expressed by fans, perhaps one day some of these long-lost fragrances might be revived.
If you loved a particular Chanel fragrance, I warmly invite you to share your story in the comments—what the scent meant to you, when and how you wore it, the memories it conjures, or who introduced you to it. These personal tributes help breathe new life into forgotten classics—and perhaps may be seen by those who can help bring them back.
This site is a labor of love and a continual work in progress. New information, photographs, and research are added as they become available, so I encourage you to check back often.
Thank you for visiting, and for keeping the legacy of Chanel alive.
